Bathroom Renovations!

Here are some pics of my bathroom renovations!  It took my mom, dad and I two days and five trips to Home Depot (which, luckily, is like, a mile from my house) to get the toilets, sinks and misc. hardware in for both bathrooms.  My dad did most of the hard work.  Mom and I also did the painting in the master Sunday. I took Monday off and did most of the hall bath painting and went shopping for linens.  I think all told it’s taken around $1500 including having the plumber out to put cutoffs under the sinks, the paint, linens, toilets, and the vanity/hardware sets in both bathrooms.  Not too bad, right?

Still haven’t finished painting the hall (blue) bathroom nor do I have the door put back on the master, OR a new shower curtain or window curtain in there so, least private home bathroom EVER right now.  Hopefully that’ll get taken care of next weekend, except the window curtains.  I have spent a TON of time going to like a dozen stores and looking online for a curtain I liked and couldn’t find one that matches well enough, so I’m going to buy two shower curtains and my mom is going to make a window curtain out of the second shower curtain.  😀

It’s seriously like a whole new room in both of them.  I’m hoping to sell the house in the next two years and I think this is gonna really increase my resale value.  The bathtubs still need an upgrade but they both work just fine.  I might leave that to the new owners. :v  Now literally the bathtubs and the stove are the ONLY hardware type things in the house that are original to the house when I got it.  I guess if you want to count the kitchen cabinets, but not countertops or sink, those, too.  Oh and the floors are new, too.

  1. damn that is a cool shower cutarin. i don’t know how crafty you are, but you could buy an all-cotton loop rug in white and hand-dye the ends of it beige so it looks like a giant bandaid. and use old apothecary bottles for q-tips (i know you have to have those, hehe), cottonballs, etc.i’ve been wanting to do a theme bathroom for ages. i keep waffling between hello kitty just to annoy all the males in the house, and a chess bathroom.

  2. I’m like, not handy/crafty at all, sadly. I mean I’ve done a few things but big projects like that I’d be terrified of.

Except for the trim painting, everything is done now, including custom made curtain for the master bath. I need to take new pics soon! Thanks for the compliment and suggestions! 😀
